Crypto casino reserves

connecting Hot and cold apart · checked twice · lower bounds
  • 33 casinos
  • 355 labelled wallets
  • 10 chains read
  • updated —

The balances of every labelled casino wallet, read from the chain about once an hour and re-read from a second, independent source a few times a day, with hot wallets (which pay players) and cold wallets (storage) shown apart. Only coins with a market price count, a casino’s own token is shown beside its total rather than inside it, and every figure is a lower bound because an unlabelled wallet is not in it.

These are transfers into and out of public casino wallets, read from the chains themselves and valued in dollars at the hour they happened. They cover only the wallets we can attribute, so deposits are a lower bound; withdrawals can include a casino moving its own money, so net flow is not profit, and the house take is an estimate with a range. Every wallet and rule is on the data page. For what we think of each casino read the casino reviews, and if deposits are something you are trying to cut down, our responsible gambling guide is the place to start.

Crypto casino reserves FAQ

Updated 5 questions
Is this proof of reserves?

It is the nearest thing to proof of reserves that can be built from outside: the balance of every labelled casino wallet, read from the chain about once an hour. Only wallets we know about are included, so each figure is a lower bound, and only coins with a market price count, so tokens dropped into a wallet by strangers never inflate it. What it cannot show is the other side of the ledger: what a casino owes its players is not on any chain. So it is a measurement of what the wallets hold, not a judgment of the casino, and not a safety rating.

What is the difference between hot and cold wallets?

A hot wallet pays players and moves all day; a cold wallet is storage and may not move for weeks. The board shows them apart because they answer different questions: hot balances say how much is on hand for payouts, cold balances say what is banked. Some trackers publish only the hot side, which is why their totals are far lower for casinos with big cold wallets. A sudden drop in a casino’s reserves is often money moving to a cold wallet we have not labelled yet, so a fall is a reason to look, not a verdict.

How are the balances checked?

Twice. Every labelled wallet’s balance is read about once an hour; a few times a day the largest wallets are read again from a different, independent source and the two readings are compared, and the result is printed on the page (“48 of 48 wallets agree within 1%”, for example). Separately, the balance change of every wallet between two readings must equal the transfers we stored in between, and a wallet that does not add up is read again by itself. That second check lives on the data page.

What are payout pulse and reserve cover?

Payout pulse asks whether withdrawals are actually leaving: each bar is one hour of counted withdrawals from a casino’s wallets. Quiet means the gap since the last payout is far longer than that casino’s usual gap, which is worth a look and not proof of a problem; a casino can simply have changed wallets. Reserve cover is the tracked balance divided by average daily withdrawals, expressed in days. Because withdrawals can include the casino moving its own money, the cover figure is a lower bound.

What does the Casino tokens view show?

For casinos that issue their own token: its price, outstanding supply, how much sits in burn addresses, how much was burned in the last 7 and 30 days, and how much of it the casino holds in its own wallets, all read from the token’s contract. A casino that says it buys back and burns its token leaves the proof on-chain, because the outstanding supply falls. A casino’s own token is never counted inside its reserves total: it could not all be sold at that price.
