Every casino on CasinoDrop gets a score out of 10. The score comes from five categories, each with a fixed weight. We use the same categories and the same weights for every casino, so the scores can be compared directly.
The five categories
| Category | Weight | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| Trust | 30% | Licence, ownership, fairness, player complaints |
| Payouts | 25% | Withdrawal speed, limits, fees, KYC |
| Games | 20% | Game choice, providers, RTP, mobile play |
| Bonuses | 15% | Real value of offers and how fair the terms are |
| Support | 10% | Speed and quality of customer service |
Trust (30%)
- Is the licence real, current and checkable on the regulator’s register?
- Who owns and operates the casino, and how long has it been running?
- Are the games from known providers or tested by an independent lab? Are provably fair games verifiable?
- Are there credible reports of unpaid withdrawals, confiscated balances or closed accounts?
- Are responsible gambling tools available, such as deposit limits, cool-off and self-exclusion?
Payouts (25%)
- How long our own withdrawal actually took, measured from request to money received.
- Minimum and maximum withdrawal limits, daily, weekly and monthly.
- Fees on deposits or withdrawals, and the payment methods supported.
- How smooth the KYC check is, and whether it is only asked for at withdrawal time.
Games (20%)
- How many games there are, and how many are worth playing.
- Which providers are available for slots, live dealer and table games.
- Whether RTP has been reduced from the provider’s standard version.
- Sportsbook and originals where they are offered, plus demo play and mobile performance.
Bonuses (15%)
- Wagering requirement, and whether it applies to the bonus or the deposit plus bonus.
- Maximum bet while wagering, game weighting and how long you have to clear it.
- Maximum cashout caps on winnings from a bonus.
- Ongoing value: rakeback, cashback, VIP or loyalty rewards, and reload offers.
A large headline bonus with 60x wagering and a low cashout cap scores worse than a small bonus with fair terms.
Support (10%)
- Is live chat available 24/7, and how long is the wait?
- Do agents answer the question asked, or paste a script?
- Which languages are supported, and how quickly does email get a reply?
What the score means
| Score | Rating | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 9.0 – 10 | Excellent | Strong in every category. We would play here ourselves. |
| 8.0 – 8.9 | Very good | A solid casino with only minor weak points. |
| 7.0 – 7.9 | Good | Worth a look, but check the specific issues we list. |
| 6.0 – 6.9 | Average | Playable, but there are better options. |
| Below 6.0 | Not recommended | Real problems. We would not deposit here. |
Instant fails
Some things stop a casino from being listed at all, whatever the rest of the review says:
- No valid licence, or a licence we cannot verify with the regulator.
- A pattern of refusing to pay verified winnings.
- Terms that let the casino void winnings for vague reasons after the fact.
- Rigged or unverifiable games, or copied games passed off as licensed ones.
- Marketing aimed at under-18s, or ignoring self-exclusion requests.
How often we update scores
We re-check every listed casino at least every six months. We update sooner when something material changes, such as a licence change, new ownership, slower payouts, changed bonus terms or a spike in player complaints. Each review shows the date it was last updated.
Ratings are not for sale
We earn commission from some of the casinos we list. That has no effect on the score or the ranking order. Casinos cannot pay to be added, to move up, to have a negative point removed or to see a review before it goes live. If a casino we earn from drops the ball, the score drops with it. See our Affiliate Disclosure for how the money side works.
