Crypto investigator ZachXBT uncovered the hijack of actor Sydney Sweeney’s X account, leading to the promotion of a scam token named “$SWEENEY.” The token quickly garnered significant trading volume before crashing, with team wallets selling over $515,000. The hacker’s involvement in multiple groups through Telegram further solidified the link to the hack.
Bob Odenkirk’s X Account Compromise:
In a similar scenario to Sweeney’s attack, actor Bob Odenkirk’s X account was also hacked, resulting in the promotion of scam meme coins, KIRK and SAUL. While the scammers managed to steal funds, the amount was less than in the Sweeney incident. Currently, the wallets associated with both scams hold around $488,000, with funds being dispersed to crypto casinos and gift card purchases.
