29-year-old Rennie was found in possession of 23.5 Bitcoin after a violent robbery in Lanarkshire. He was deemed the “technical brains” behind the crime for providing the expertise needed to transfer the Bitcoin during the assault that took place on March 18, 2020. Rennie was not directly involved in the physical attack but played a crucial role in the theft.
