Cosmos Hub Governance Proposal
The Cosmos Hub has put forth a governance proposal to move 1 million ATOM tokens to the Hydro liquidity protocol, pending community approval. This proposal aims to transfer 500,000 ATOM tokens to seed an ATOM liquidity pool on the interchain auction protocol and another 500,000 ATOM tokens to be staked with liquid staking platform Stride for the stATOM liquidity bucket.
Introduction to Hydro
Hydro is a platform that utilizes the Cosmos Hub for liquidity management, governance, and community expansion. It allows projects to deploy protocol-owned liquidity through smart contracts, enabling DeFi protocols to bid for liquidity under the governance of the Cosmos Hub community.
Deployment of ATOM Tokens
ATOM tokens play a significant role in various Cosmos ecosystem dApps, including Osmosis and Astroport. With Astroport currently holding a total value locked of around $28.89 million and a year-to-date volume exceeding $1.3 billion, ATOM tokens are strategically deployed across multiple platforms within the Cosmos network.
