Bitcoin’s Projected Global Capital Share
Michael Saylor, executive chairman of MicroStrategy, predicts that Bitcoin will capture 7% of global capital in the near future, surpassing other traditional assets. As of September 9, Bitcoin was trading at nearly $55,000 and is expected to reach $3.85 million per coin as adoption increases.
Technological Superiority of Bitcoin
Saylor attributes Bitcoin’s exponential price growth to its technological superiority over other assets and its consistent yearly returns. Since MicroStrategy started purchasing BTC in August 2020, investors have seen an average annual profit of 44%, compared to the S&P 500’s 12% over the same period.
MicroStrategy’s Leveraged Bitcoin Strategy
MicroStrategy’s leveraged Bitcoin strategy, which involves selling convertible bonds to acquire more crypto, has yielded impressive returns of 825% on the company’s capital. Saylor also highlights the increasing investor demand for Bitcoin, driven by recent outflows from spot BTC exchange-traded funds (ETFs) amidst global financial market volatility.
