Research by data provider CoinGecko found that over the past three years, approximately 87 sponsorship deals have been signed, with a significant focus on European football clubs.

European football clubs have been at the forefront of crypto-sports sponsorships, with 33 sponsorship agreements established since 2021. Major clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea Football Clubs have provided extensive global exposure for crypto sponsors through partnerships.
Crypto Partnerships in Motorsports and Esports
Aside from football, the motorsports industry has seen notable crypto partnership deals, such as FTX’s contract with the Mercedes Formula 1 team. Additionally, cryptocurrency firms have invested in the esports sector, with significant deals like Bybit and Red Bull Racing’s $150 million agreement and Crypto.com’s $100 million partnership with F1.
Expanding Reach Across Various Sports Sectors
Cryptocurrency service providers are also expanding their reach across various sports sectors beyond football and motorsports. From basketball to competitive combat sports and cricket, crypto firms are actively seeking to engage with larger audiences through strategic partnerships.
