Russia’s leading crypto mining equipment supplier, Intelion, is considering investing over $130 million in developing AI data centers. The Moscow-based company aims to allocate 12 billion Russian rubles towards purchasing server equipment to construct AI-focused data centers, as reported by Russian media RBC.

BitRiver to Launch AI-Focused Data Center
In alignment with the industry trend, BitRiver, a Bitcoin mining company operating under OFAC sanctions, plans to launch an AI-focused data center in Russia by the second half of 2024. This facility, expected to have a capacity of 100 megawatts, signifies the growing interest and investment in AI infrastructure within the cryptocurrency sector.
